Wanganui takes Premier Title in Wellington
Wanganui won the final of the premier division after an action packedtournament, with Papatoetoe taking the 1st Division and Youth andLadies division.
Premier:
Papatoetoefailed to hold out a fully oiled Wanganui team this weekend. Wanganuistarted the tournament in hot form betting Wellington by two goals onFriday night, although losing to Papatoetoe in the earlier round theywere looking to be the team to beat. The goal keeper Manu was playingthe best he has ever played keeping out some incredible shots from allteams. With all the players from Wanganui linking well and working onteam goals it was going to take something special to beat them.
Papatoetoewas the other finalist and with a couple of players out throughinjuries they were most definately the underdogs. Papatoetoe startedwell with getting the first two goals, with wanganui coming back tomake a 2-2 half time score. After half time Wanganui stepped it upgetting three quick goals making it 5-2. Papatotoe called a time outwith 10 mins remaining. After the time out Pap came back with avengencescoring three goals leveling the score with four minutes remaining.Wanganui scored with 1 min remaining leaving no time for Pap to comeback and taking a well deserved final. Final score 6-5 to Wanganui

1st Division:
Papatoetoewon the final against Wellington with the young guns playing a verystructured game. With Steve Tonkin in goal (Tonkinator) playing after a18 a month absence it looked like he had never left. Other stand outswere K Signal, K Murray and D Thomas (Pap) and T Mackie and A Tilley(Wellington).

Youth
Papatoetoetook the final that went into extra time. Great action packed game thathad the crowd yelling for both sides. Wellington looked strong andlooked to have it all sowen up until Nathon Clark scored with 9 secondsto go causing the game to go into extra time.
The playerswere throwing everything at it and both teams looked shattered, at theend of this nail biter. Stand out players Nathon Clark, Kierin Signal,Troy Signal (Papatoetoe) and with Allan Tilley and Trevor Moore fromWellington. Although all players deserved a mention as all playersplayed extremly well.
