USA beat South Africa to take 2010 Title after a long awaited championship. South Africa finish second with the first time in over fourty years making the  chance to go to A group.

The unfortunate story was Austria after starting well and playing the best hockey they have ever played just missing out by 50 seconds in the play off for third place going into penalty shots causing a loss to Holland making Austria to stay in the B group.

Well done to all the organisers to a well run championships, the venue and accomodation was superb. All teams and spectators were treated to one of the best championships. So what were some of the highlights and down falls.

Firstly the most incredable story of the number 5 Martin Batistoni from Uruguay, he unfortunately had a shot from New Zealand player Alley Langridge hit him directly into the check and nose causing incredable damage, 4 broken places in his check, his nose was shattered and he also had eye and some internal damage. I spoke with this player on the last night and he explained that the doctor that performed the 7,000euro operation said he was extremly lucky not to have any long term damage, as well as being alive. I wish him all the very best

What about Holland leveling against Austria with 50 seconds remaining in the 3rd and fouth play off. this was a incredable display of determination. Well done.

Then the team India, these guys lost every game by many goals but needed to be treated with respect as they never gave up trying and always had a smile along with trying to get to know all the teams and players, they truly were a great bunch of guys. Good work guys good to see your spirit is strong. I wish all the best for the next championships.

Other highlights and team that made ther mark on the chaps were: South Africa for making the final for the first time. Macao for there dancing and freindly nature giving all the kids from the game opening and closing ceremony shirts. NZ for being invited by the committee to perform the Haka for the winning team after the final match. And lastly to the final event the closing party, what a night with teams mixing and dancing it was a great night. with Israel showing there dancing skills having all the girls wanting more, Macao showing their hip hop and getting other players to join in it was alot of fun. When I woke in the morning and went to the bus at 8am I looked around seeing some players sleeping in the foyer and all over the place, to all you guys well done for taking it to the limit. Holland, and some of NZ players arriving home around 7am unbelievable.
